Satan's Brides
A labyrinth of accusation, hysterical rumor, a landscape in which hearsay, heresy, gossip have so slowly and thoroughly replaced the careful assessment of evidence. Justice seems to have been dealt by Satan. We know the weird sisters, travel in packs of eight, ten. Although they pare down in size and expand ranging from ten or twenty, to two or four, life continues making plans as the circle of life continues and the girls become women. By looking at their flight pattern, we

Prescription Headaches..
I take medication for Epilepsy. It should be a simple process. I have an account with Walgreens that has all my medication listed so that I can just refill my prescription on the app, and then pick it up. Simple, right? Not in my world. I automatically refilled my prescription for Keppra XR on March 11th. I was supposed to pick up the prescription on the 13th. I called to check on my prescription, of course it’s out of stock. I finally got it on the 16th. Was I lucky! They or

March is Women's History Month
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg was told she’d Never become a Lawyer. Nobody hired women. She was the second woman on the Supreme Court. She served as Justice from 1993-2020. Justice Ginsburg was once asked: “How many women would be enough on the Supreme Court?” Without missing a beat, she replied: “Nine.” There’s a teacher named Jane Elliot. I have mild Cerebral Palsy on my right side.
The way it manifests itself is that I have a fist for a right hand, and I wear a brace on my right leg, because my balance isn’t great. As a writer, a YA novelist, can anyone imagine writing a novel with five fingers across an entire keyboard? I wish I had the dexterity for that. I don’t. So, I’m working with someone who types it out for me, we go over the chapters together. As I write this post, I’m writing it in my email. That’s not nearly as complicated. I keep thinkin

Disabled Dating
I’m sure you’re wondering why I haven’t “travelled” the Internet to find someone. Anyone out there tried EHARMONY? JDATE? Let me tell you, there are more boys masquerading as men than I ever thought! Sorry, guys, obviously I don’t mean all of you. But, can we be serious for a minute? I’m 1% of the population, the disabled population that is. At least according to a counsellor of mine, from years back. Just disabled enough to fall through the cracks in an “already broken down

You are now entering the Disabled Dating Zone. If you accept this mission, your message will self-destruct in ten seconds. Before the internet dating sites were fruitful and multiplied, I signed up for a matchmaking group for the disabled called Chaverim. No sooner had I turned in my paperwork, than I found out that I had already been matched by the director. “Erika, would you please come into my office and close the door?” Hmm… this sounds suspicious. St. Valentine's Day and Epilepsy
As I write this, I didn’t know what to put in the Subject line. Does that have to do with my Epilepsy? Maybe. Or maybe, it’s because I don’t want to talk about the fact that Valentine’s Day and Epilepsy share the same Saint? How romantic is that? Historically, Epilepsy is known as the “falling sickness” and in German, there’s a phonetic similarity between Valentine and Fallen. There are other legends that a third Century Bishop named Valentine von Terni freed the son of a
