I have mild Cerebral Palsy on my right side.

The way it manifests itself is that I have a fist for a right hand, and I wear a brace on my right leg, because my balance isn’t great.

As a writer, a YA novelist, can anyone imagine writing a novel with five fingers across an entire keyboard? I wish I had the dexterity for that. I don’t. So, I’m working with someone who types it out for me, we go over the chapters together.

As I write this post, I’m writing it in my email.

That’s not nearly as complicated.

I keep thinking that I’m “saying the wrong thing”

as a writer, I want to find the perfect words.

I have to remind myself that there are no perfect words. There’s just my life, which is far from perfect.
